About the Area - Wainfleet

Our Wainfleet Office is situated in the heart of the village, on High Street, overlooking the Market Square and the Buttercross where John Wesley preached. Wainfleet is actually a town and has its own Lord Mayor and Councilors, although it retains the charm and character of a village.

Market day is Friday. Situated only 6 miles from Skegness and its many attractions, Wainfleet enjoys the best of both worlds, an argicultural village life with local shops, restaurants and pubs, yet only 5 minutes drive from the large supermarkets and shopping centre of Skegness.

Wainfleet is also the home of the award winning Batemans Brewery situated on the river Haven and the nearby river Steeping. It also boast Magdelen College School which was built in 1484! Match and pleasure fishing on the rivers and ponds is enjoyed by locals and visitors through out the year.

The village is well served by public bus services and there is a Railway Station with connections to Skegness and Grantham. Other nearby villages, such as Friskney, Spilsby, Burgh Le Marsh, Stickney, Alford, Sibsey and Wrangle offer a wide variety of local facilities and attractions including windmills, Heavy Horse Centre, Greyhound sanctury, National Parrot sanctury, Aviation Museum, Gunby Hall National Trust, numerous fishing lakes. Snipe Dales Nature reserve and the magnificent Lincolnshire Wolds with the charming thatch cottages and mud and stud buildings. Superb local produce, fresh vegetables, meat, cheese and honey, smoked fish and eels!

Excellent local primary and junior schools in the villages, Skegness Grammar School and St Clements College in Skegness, St Giles at Wrangle and with Grammar Schools also in Spilsby, Alford and Horncastle.

The delights of Skegness are on hand, everything for the family from Butilns entertainment holiday centre and Fantasy Island, to the miles of award winning sandy beaches with traditional donkey rides. There is also Nature Land, the Seal Sanctury and Hardys Animal Farm. The RSPB Gibralter Point Nature Reserve is also a popular attraction. Nearby Yatch and Boating Club. There are several excellent golf courses in the area, Woodhall Spa is only 1/2 hour drive away. Wainfleet even has its own 9 hole course and driving range, ideal for the less experienced golfer!

Theres lots to see and do in the Wainfleet area, you will be amazed at what there is to discover, even the petrol station is unique! Many people say that its like traveling back in time, you certainly have to get used to a slower way of life, and the great thing is there are no traffic jams on the motorway! Humberside airport is under an hours drive, Doncaster/Robin Hood and East Midlands Airports are within easy reach. You can be in London or Manchester in under 3 hours, Leeds is 2 hours drive.
